These were some of my Christmas gifts this year! The India themed one’s were for my man, Scott. I need to make more of these to decorate my apartment… I gave them all away!
So I know it’s a little late but here’s an update from LAST time I was here (Jan 4-15).
I hadn’t been back in something like 2 months so I had to go through all the “intake” testing. When an artist is gone for over 5 weeks, there’s all sorts of baseline tests they do such as “do as many situps as you can in 60 seconds”, long jumps, squats, lunges, flexibility testing, etc. There was a land test and a water test and I did them back to back. There wasn’t a lot of time so I couldn’t just take it slow. I was SO unbelievably sore for the next week. Not only because of the testing but because of being put right back into almost full show right away!
The shows went pretty well even though it turns out I had strained my ab pretty badly (thankfully that’s all healed up now). The following week I got REALLY sick too and had to miss a day of shows. I’m still getting over that same cold!
The best part of last time I was here was that I had so many visitors! My longtime friend Sarah Bernes, her brother Ben, and her mom came to see the show. The same night another family friend, Bonnie (also friend’s with the Bernes’) saw the show. The following Saturday my sister and Corey saw the show as well as one of my coaches from when I was about 10 years old, Sarah Williams and 3 of her friends. So despite the injuries and illness, I think everyone had a great time.
I also got to see The Beatles LOVE by Cirque. Since I am an artist, I can request light booth seats (seats way up high) or “jump seats” as they call them at LOVE (they don’t have a light booth). For some reason that balcony was closed so I got one of the best seats in the house! For free! I’ll post photos from that in my next post.
After having their break for the past week or two, the CdS show KA is having a dress rehearsal before they start back up again. Luckily, I am here just in time for that! Normally I’d be able to get free seats in the light booth (way up high) at the show but I decided to go to the dress rehearsal instead. The tickets were only $35 for seats that are between $150-$180 normally!
*AND all the proceeds go to charity!!
I can’t wait for Monday evening!
I’m the first Cirque person to get to stay in the newly remodeled rooms at Candlewood!
Thankfully… since last time I was here the construction started at 9am DIRECTLY above my room for 12 of the 14 days I was here.
The best part is that the rooms actually smell clean now!
Well, I’m back in Vegas for two weeks of shows! The first two shows back were rough, but not as rough as I had thought. However, today I am unbelievably sore! Let’s hope that I can work the soreness out in training today.
I am super excited to have visitors while I am here this time! This weekend, a longtime friend of mine, Sarah, and her family are coming as well as another family friend. Then the following weekend, Scott and his family are coming, and so is my sister!
Well I’m off for another training. Aiye!
